From Strip Club to ‘Boober Eats’ Here are 5 Impressive Pivots During CoronaVirus

Some people use global catastrophe as an excuse for failure. Others see opportunity and do whatever it takes to succeed.

Here are five of the most impressive pivots I’ve seen during Covid-19. You’ll see that these pivots aren’t exclusive to companies. Fitness trainers to 84 year old grandmothers are hustling to roll in the dough during a global pandemic.

LUCKY DEVIL LOUNGE

A strip club in Portland pivoted from stripping to a food delivery service cleverly called, ‘Boober Eats’.

Order some overpriced food and get a pair of scantily clad dancers knocking on your doorstep.

BAUER

Bauer pivoted from making hockey equipment to medical equipment. They’ve designed medical shields to be worn in conjunction with regular medical masks to provide total facial protection.

JOE WICKS

After schools closed due to Covid-19, fitness instructor Joe Wick started live streaming 30 minute P.E. classes every morning on YouTube.

Jow blew up growing his YouTube subscribers from a few hundred thousand subscribers in early March 2020 to over 2.5M today! He gained over 1.2M subscribers in a single week and has amassed over 210M views on his channel

NONA NERINA

84 year old Italian grandmother, Nona Nerina, usually hosts pasta making workshops about an hour north of Rome Italy. Since the country’s lockdown, her granddaughter, Chiara, helped her bring her pasta making classes online.

In times of crisis it’s easy to feel discouraged by a swarm of stressful news. Hopefully these real-world examples can provide some inspiration for businesses and people that are struggling to survive to find some creative solutions to stay afloat.
